    Spring is sprung and golf swings are expected as The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce hosts their 24th Annual Golf Scramble. The event will be held at the LaRue County Golf Course on Friday, April 27. The golf course is located at 1175 Greensburg Road in Hodgenville.

    2018 Future Hawks Basketball Camp

        The future Hawks Basketball Camp will be held from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. on May 30-June 1 at the LaRue County High School gym. The camp is open to boys in 2nd thru 8th grades (as of Fall 2018). The cost is $40; siblings receive a $10 discount. Registration includes Camp T-shirt, fundamental instruction, and awards. Registration forms are available at local LC schools.   • Allen to retire as Hawks Head...

    The great Babe Ruth was once quoted saying, “Love the game of baseball and baseball will love you.” For the last thirty-three years, the game of baseball has been a passion and priority for Hawks varsity baseball Head Coach Eric Allen. At the end of this season, Allen will transition into a completely different phase in his life as he exits from baseball.

    As the Hawks began last week’s schedule it would certainly be a stretch of games that would help identify where the Hawks stood in a very competitive fifth region. To kick off the week the Hawks hosted the reigning Fifth Regional Champions, the Marion County Knights on Tuesday, May 1.

    A beginner’s class for pickle ball is being held at the Board of Education office on College Street in Hodgenville at 5 p.m. on Sundays. Regular sessions are held on Monday and Thursday at 5 p.m. All equipment is provided.

    Pickle ball Nelson County

    Pickle ball activities and opportunities in Bardstown are from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the COBEC building on East Muir and First Streets. Enter through the rear of the building and follow signs to the gym.

  • Lady Hawks go 3-2 in Border War

    The Lady Hawks varsity softball team went 3-2 in the Border War tournament at Monroe County on April 5-6.

    The Lady Hawks beat Cumberland County 9-3, Russellville 6-3 and Smith County 11-3. The Lady Hawks lost two close games to Campbellsville 6-5 and Monroe County 10-9.
