    The visiting Meade County Lady Waves and LaRue County Lady Hawks battled to a 1-1 tie Monday evening.

    The Lady Hawks (8-1-1) struck first when sophomore midfielder Nichole Thomas scored to give LaRue County a 1-0 halftime lead.

    The Lady Waves (4-3-1) got the equalizer when senior midfielder Micaela Ray scored off a feed from senior midfielder Katelyn Cucino with 22 minutes left in the match.

    The LaRue County Middle School Hawks hosted TK Stone Sept. 20 at the second annual Nathan McCurry Memorial Bowl Bash. LaRue’s eighth-graders remained undefeated by pulling out another win with the final score, LaRue 28, TK Stone 8. The team plays at Hart County 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23. LaRue will host the playoff game on Sept. 30. Above, the eighth-graders pose with their trophy. The seventh-grade team defeated TK Stone 22-8.

  • Erin Boley chooses Notre Dame

    Erin Boley didn’t want to drag out the recruiting process. Once she found the right school, Boley wanted to make her decision.

    Boley, an Elizabethtown junior, found that school, giving a verbal commitment to Notre Dame coaches Monday evening during an in-home visit. The Kentucky Gatorade and Associated Press Player of the Year can’t sign with a school until November 2015.
