  • Hawks blowout Fort Knox

    With their district game against Hart County rescheduled because of Winter Storm Hunter, the Hawks varsity team only played one game this past week, and played they did, as they beat the Fort Knox Eagles 90-53.

    The Hawks struggled in the first half with the quicker Eagles leading 18-16 at the end of the first quarter and 38-33 at halftime.

  • JV Hawks results - January 17,...

    The Hawks JV team played Fort Knox on Tuesday, January 10 and came away with a tough 41-36 victory.

    The Hawks jumped out the a 10-2 lead at the end of 1st quarter lead by Chase Childress’ two 3 pointers. The Eagles outscored the Hawks 14-13 in the second quarter but the Hawks took a 23-16 lead into halftime.

    The Hawks and Eagles continued to back and forth in the 2nd half but the Eagles could get no closer than 2 points. The Hawks made plays down the stretch to help seal the 5 point victory.

  • Freshman Hawks results - January...

    The Freshman Hawks played Thomas Nelson on Thursday, January 11 and came away with a 45-21 victory.

    The Hawks jumped out to a 13-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Hawks created multiple turnovers in the first half that led to fast break points. The Hawks took a 24-12 lead into the halftime break.

    The second half was very similar to the first half as the Hawks outscored the Generals 21-9 for the 24 point victory.

    Pickleball LaRue County

    A beginners class for pickelball is being held at the Board of Education office on College Street in Hodgenville at 5 p.m. on Sundays. Regular sessions are held on Monday and Thursday at 5 p.m. All equipment is provided.

    Pickleball activities and opportunities in Bardstown are from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the COBEC building on East Muir and First Streets. Enter through the rear of the building and follow signs to the gym.

  • LCMS Hawks play final home game

    The Hawks played their final home game on Monday, January 8 as the St. James Knights came to town for a conference matchup.

    The 7th grade Hawks began the evening of basketball by jumping out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter the Hawk’s offense kept rolling as they dropped seventeen points while the defense held the Knights scoreless for a 32-4 lead at halftime.

    In the second half the Hawks were able to get every player on the roster quality minutes as the Hawks pulled away for a 47-9 victory over the St. James Knights.

  • Mat Hawks finish first in tourney

    The LaRue County Hawks traveled to Bryan Station High School in Lexington to participate in the prestigious Defender of the Mat wrestling tournament on Saturday, January 6.

    The Hawks finished 1st out of 18 teams with 9 of 12 varsity wrestlers finishing in the top four.

  • Lady Hawks win barn burner...

    The Lady Hawks varsity basketball team improved their record to 7-8  on the season after a thrilling 45-43 win against the Bardstown Lady Tigers on Saturday, January 6.

    The game was tied 14-14 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Tigers came away with a 25-24 lead at halftime.

    With the game still going back and forth in the third quarter, the Lady Tigers managed to extend their lead by two points with a score or 37-35 at the end of the third quarter.

  • Hawks continue to win

    The Hawks varsity basketball team has now won seven straight games after defeating Campbellsville and Green County this past week.

    The Hawks came away with a 76-66 win against the Campbellsville Eagles on Tuesday, January 2.

    The beginning of the game was showing signs of being a blowout as the Hawks led 25-5 at the end of the first quarter. However, in the second quarter, the Hawks hot shooting stalled as the Eagles outscored the Hawks 25-16 to cut the lead to 41-30 at halftime.
