    LaRue County Youth Soccer

    The LaRue County Youth Soccer Association is having an in-person registration at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, February 3.

    Youth baseball and softball signups

    LaRue County Youth baseball and softball signups will be February 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School cafeteria. Ages 3-15 for youth baseball and ages of 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U for youth softball.

  • LCMS Lady Hawks volleyball...

    As Coach Kendrick Bryan enters into his fourth season as head coach of the LCMS Lady Hawks Volleyball team, he and Assistant Coach Jay Edlin are looking forward to a season maturation and growth.

    “The girls have been practicing hard, and I am optimistic about this team’s abilities. We have several returning players and their experience is helpful regarding volleyball drills and terminology,” Coach Bran said.

    Assistant Coach Jay Edlin is also excited about the new season.

  • Mat Hawks compete in tough...

    The LaRue County Hawks were in action Saturday, January 20 at Louisville Male for the Michael Herchenrader Jr. Memorial Tournament.

    14 teams were represented with four being in the top ten in the state. The Mat Hawks had a strong finish of third place behind #7 Madison Central and #2 Walton Verona.

  • Lady Hawks lose heartbreaker to...

    After having their games against Bullitt Central and Breckinridge County canceled because of inclement weather, the Lady Hawks varsity basketball team lost a close 67-61 game to the Central Hardin Lady Bruins on Friday, January 19.

    The Lady Bruins led 19-13 at the end of the first quarter. Lady Hawks senior Presley Brown had 10 of the Lady Hawks 13 points in the quarter.

    Brown would lead the Lady Hawks in the second quarter as they cut the lead to 32-30 at halftime as Brown had 24 points in the first half.

  • Hawks go 1-1 in Toyota Classic

    The Hawks varsity basketball team broke even in the Toyota Classic this past weekend in Georgetown with a loss to Scott County and a win against Wayne County.

    The Hawks lost to the Scott County Cardinals 91-53 on Saturday, January 20.

     “You can’t start a fire without a spark.” American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen wrote in one of his biggest hits of all-time Dancing in the Dark. LaRue County Boys Basketball senior Kendrik Weathers is the spark that starts the fire for the LaRue County Hawks team.

  • Lady Hawks fall to Thomas Nelson

    Just when things seemed to be going in the right direction, the Lady Hawks varsity basketball team suffered a disappointing 51-42 loss to the Thomas Nelson Lady Generals on Tuesday, January 9.

    The Lady Hawks were playing catch-up from the beginning of the game as they trailed 14-10 at the end of the first quarter and 22-18 at halftime.

    In the third quarter, the Lady Hawks managed to cut the Lady Generals’ lead to 30-27, but the Lady general put the game away in the fourth quarter outscoring the Lady Hawks 21-15 to win the game by nine points.

  • Hawks blowout Fort Knox

    With their district game against Hart County rescheduled because of Winter Storm Hunter, the Hawks varsity team only played one game this past week, and played they did, as they beat the Fort Knox Eagles 90-53.

    The Hawks struggled in the first half with the quicker Eagles leading 18-16 at the end of the first quarter and 38-33 at halftime.

  • JV Hawks results - January 17,...

    The Hawks JV team played Fort Knox on Tuesday, January 10 and came away with a tough 41-36 victory.

    The Hawks jumped out the a 10-2 lead at the end of 1st quarter lead by Chase Childress’ two 3 pointers. The Eagles outscored the Hawks 14-13 in the second quarter but the Hawks took a 23-16 lead into halftime.

    The Hawks and Eagles continued to back and forth in the 2nd half but the Eagles could get no closer than 2 points. The Hawks made plays down the stretch to help seal the 5 point victory.
