  • Strong Start for LCMS volleyball

    On Monday, February 5, the Lady Hawks entertained the Lady Waves of Stuart Pepper Middle as the Hawks looked to build on their impressive season opening wins.

  • Hawks win two more

    The Hawks continue to make their regular season even more spectacular as they picked up two more wins this past week.

    The Hawks made their homecoming sweet with a 63-42 win over the Taylor County Cardinals.

    The Hawks struggled at the beginning of the game as the Cardinals took a 7-2 lead, but the Hawks went on a 6-0 run to end the first quarter with an 8-7 lead.

    The Hawks started playing better in the second quarter as they outscored the Cardinals 19-11 to take a 27-18 lead into halftime.

    Youth baseball and softball signups

    LaRue County Youth baseball and softball signups will be February 10, 17 and 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School cafeteria. Ages 3-15 for youth baseball and ages of 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U for youth softball. Baseball prices are as followed: T-ball (3-4 yrs) $50, Peanut (5-6 yrs) $70, Rookie (7-8 yrs) $70, Minor (9-10 yrs) $70, Major (11-12 yrs) $70 and Babe Ruth (13-15 yrs) $75.

  • The Lady Hawks’ four horsemen

    “Obstacles are put in the way to see if what we want is really worth fighting for,” an unknown author once said. Four Lady Hawk senior basketball players (Mallory Williams, Sara Warren, Presley Brown and Sophie Akin) have experienced more obstacles than the average teenage athlete has, not least of which is changing head coaches three times in a span of four years.

  • LCMS volleyball starts season

    On Monday, January 30, the LCMS Lady Hawks Volleyball team tipped off their season as they hosted the J.T. Alton Lady Trojans.

    The 7th grade Lady Hawks began the night of volleyball action and it didn’t take long to see how this group of Lady Hawks have already gained experience and improved their skills from last season. The Lady Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first set and they continued to cruise to a 21-7 victory in the first set of play.

  • Lady Hawks get #2 seed

    The Lady Hawks varsity basketball team will go into the district tournament as the number two seed as they finished with a 3-3 district record after beating the Hart County Lady Raiders 54-45 on Saturday, February 3.

    The Lady Hawks led 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and extended their lead to 29-18 at halftime.

  • Hawks continue to win

    The Hawks varsity basketball team won their sixth straight game this past week after defeating Hart County, Green County and Adair County.

    The Hawks handled their district foe the Hart County Raiders on Saturday, February 3 as they beat them 81-59.

    The Raiders kept up with the Hawks at the beginning of the game as they had a 20-19 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Hawks picked up the defensive pressure in the second quarter as they outscored the Raiders 21-12 to take a 40-32 lead at halftime.

    The LaRue County High School Mat Hawks dominated Central Hardin 66-9 on thier senior night during their match at home on Wednesday, January 31.
