  • LCHS Lady Hawks Soccer Senior...
  • Hawks vs Panthers this Friday...

    The LaRue County Hawks football team hopes to get back on track this Friday night as they take on a local rival, the Panthers from Elizabethtown High School. The Hawks (4-3) are coming off a heart-breaking loss to Lincoln County before their bye week, but the Hawks have won two out of their last three contests as they head into the final three games of the regular season. The Panthers also (4-3) started the season (0-3), but they have won four games in a row, defeating Adair County last Friday night by a score of 56-14.

  • Railsplitter Run Winners

    LaRue County’s Cross Country team was well represented in the Lincoln Days 5K and 10K Railsplitter Run. The Overall 10K winner was Gabe Fortier, with a time of 41:28. In the 5K, Assistant Coach Matt Fortier placed 5th overall and 1st in his age group, with a time of 21:17. Chase Hines was the overall 5K winner with a time of 17:33.

    If you have followed the Hawks Football team this season you may have realized that any and all offensive plays start with Chase (center) and Connor (quarterback) Baker. “Needless to say there is a trust factor there at those two positions between each other that you don’t often, if ever see,” says Head Coach Josh Jaggers. “It’s a first for me and will likely be a last.”

  • Hawks golf heading to state

    The LCHS Hawks golf team is heading to the state tournament for the third consecutive year as they finished second in the Fifth Region golf tournament on Thursday, September 27 at Elizabethtown Country Club.

    The Hawks qualified for the state tournament with a score of 324. They finished one shot ahead of Meade County who had a score of 325. The Hawks won the previous two regional tournaments, but Central Hardin won this year’s region championship finishing four shots ahead of LaRue County with a score of 320.

    As the Lincoln County Patriots strolled into Hawk Field last Friday night both teams seemed to be clicking on all cylinders. The Patriots dropped their first game of the year, but as they made the trip to Hawk Field this past Friday night they were riding a four game winning streak. As for the Hawks, the past two Friday nights had resulted in big wins against Adair County as well as Hart County. So, as expected, this game would prove to be a highly competitive contest between two teams trying to keep their winning streaks rolling and it didn’t disappoint.

  • LCHS volleyball earns #1 seed

    The Lady Hawks varsity volleyball team secured the number one seed in the 18th district tournament with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 31-29) win over Green County on Thursday, September 27. The Lady Hawks are 16-13 on the season and 5-1 in the district. Their next game is on Thursday, October 4 at 7:30 p.m. when they take on John Hardin at home. The 18th district tournament will be played at Memorial Elementary School in Hart County on Monday, October 8 and the Lady Hawks will play number four seed Caverna. Times are TBA.

  • LCHS girls soccer beat Marion...

    The Lady Hawks are now 5-7-2 on the season after beating Marion County 2-1 on Wednesday, September 26. Both goals were made by Olivia Hazelwood. Assists were by Kenzie Hornback and Kylee Nunn. The win put the Lady Hawks as the number one seed in the 18th district tournament. The Lady Hawks lost to North Bullitt 3-0 on Saturday, September 29. There were no stats available for the game. The Lady Hawks played Monroe County on Monday and the results of that game will be featured in the October 10 edition of The LaRue County Herald News. 

  • LCHS boys soccer falls to...

    The Hawks boys soccer team are now 6-7 on the season after losing to Bardstown 7-1 on Saturday, September 29. Clay Cecil had the lone goal in the game. They played Campbellsville on Tuesday and the results of that game will be featured in the October 10 edition of The LaRue County Herald News. Their next game is this Thursday, October 4 at home against Bullitt East at 6 p.m.
