Words cannot express how excited I am to be the editor of the LaRue County Herald News.

I was born and raised in Rockcastle County and had lived there my entire life. I worked as the news editor of the county newspaper, the Mount Vernon Signal, for more than three years.

As many of you know from your own experiences, it can be scary and difficult to leave your hometown for a different job, to go to college, etc. However, this was not the case for me when I left Rockcastle County to become the editor of the LaRue County Herald.

My Daddy, named John Samuel, was always called “Jack.” He used to say, “all great men named John are called Jack,” and he was one of the great ones.

  • Where did the time go?

It’s that time of year when we get to watch cash strapped, teary eyed, last minute, emotional moms and dads of this year’s senior class, come in to the office to put that graduation ad in, or get a copy of the paper for somebody that lives out of town, or for the random, “I’m not sure where my paper went,” as we watch everyone trying to hang on to any memory of these big moments in their child’s life.
