  • Celebrating Memorial Day the Right Way

Across the Bluegrass, Kentuckians await the arrival of Memorial Day weekend. As family and friends gather, it is imperative to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. The brave men and women who fought and died, defending the freedom we covet as Americans, deserve our respect and gratitude. Collectively, I ask that we pay tribute and celebrate the true meaning of the upcoming holiday.

    Thought for the week:

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter the words but to live by them.

Thought for the week: God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try.

I have been having a great birthday month so far. It started on May 2 as I spent the day at Churchill Downs with family and friends. On May 10, I had lunch at O’Charley’s with a friend, then throw in Mother’s Day, before my birthday, as we went to Hodgenville Grill for our annual lunch. Then I went to Cheddar’s for supper with my son Joe, Tempest and Ms. Leah. Then I ended the day by watching my all time favorite movie, Sweet Home Alabama.

  • For Sale: One Election Date

For the low, low price of $10,000 you too can influence an election. Not by running ads or placing signs in your Aunt’s front yard but by shaping the potential number of people who will vote in the election.

For my daily Bible reading, I have been reading the book of Acts for the past couple of weeks.

The book is mainly about the spread of Christianity and the missionary travels of Apostle Paul as he spreads the news of Jesus Christ. It has been more interesting to me as I want to see the new movie “Paul, Apostle of Christ.”
