     American Legion

    The American Legion will be hosting consignment auctions from 7-10 p.m. every Tuesday night. 20 percent of the sale will go to raising funds for the American Legion.     Last Day of School

        The last day of school for LaRue County students will be Thursday, May 24, and will be an early release day.

    GRADUATION!

        LaRue County High School graduation will be held on Friday, May 25 at 8 p.m.

    The LaRue County School Board regular scheduled meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the LCHS Media Center.

  • City discusses budget

    The Hodgenville City Council heard the first reading of the 2018-2019 budget at their monthly meeting on Monday, May 14.

    There was no discussion from the council about the budget as council member Steve Johnson made a motion for the council to hear it. Hodgenville Mayor, Kenny DeVore, told the council that the budget is “tight” and they tried to make it as close as they could with previous years. The budget will be for fiscal year between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

  • National Speech Student of the Year

    Elena Cecil, an LCHS senior and member of the LCHS Speech Team, was selected as one of six finalists for the National Speech and Debate Association Student of the Year award given annually at the NSDA National Speech and Debate Tournament held in June. This year’s tournament will be in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where Cecil will also be a competitor in Oratory.

    NSDA is a nationwide organization and honor society, and its national tournament features winners from each state’s competitions, the top speech students from around the country.

  • Quest and Cool School

     The principle that will permeate Quest 18 this year will be learning through fun activities for gifted/talented kindergarten through fifth grade kids from both Abraham Lincoln and Hodgenville elementary schools. Camp runs June 18-22 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

    Karyn Brey, gifted/talented coordinator, and Christina Boone, instructional supervisor, organizes the yearly event.

    Church Homecoming

    Pike View Baptist Church 2018 Homecoming will be held at 10 a.m. central time, Sunday May 27. One service will be held on Sunday featuring Pastor Seth Buckner from Heritage Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas. Dinner will be served following the service. Everyone is invited.

    Youth Rally
