  • Set Your Sights on Jesus

As a child, I recall teachers and other influential individuals challenging me to set my sights on a goal in the future and strive for that goal. They spoke of the importance of setting the sights to remain focused and centered while progressing toward a goal. Such a mentality guards against the threat of distraction or derailment on the journey.

  • Parkway Baptist - Trash for Cash

    Dear Editor,

On Saturday, April 28, 2018, 19 volunteers from Parkway Baptist Church picked up trash as part of the Trash for Cash program, to raise money for our Eastern Kentucky Mission Trips that we take the first weekend of November each year.

This will be our 4th year working in Eastern KY and our 3rd year at Calvary Campus in Letcher County.  The Trash for Cash is a wonderful opportunity that LaRue County Fiscal Court offers for non-profit organizations.

  • God Bless Mothers

“Mahalia, the wife of R. Adkins, she was the sunshine of our home.”  These words are on a tombstone in an old country cemetery.  I believe every wife and mother would like to be remembered in this way.

To be the sunshine of your home does not mean the world has to always revolve around you or that you must always  be on top of the world and smiling.  But the mother needs to provide warmth and light that each home needs.

  • Youth Drop In
