    The LaRue County Genealogy Society has recently received a very generous donation of various pieces of Civil and Revolutionary war memorabilia and artifacts. This donation was provided by Ed and Joyce Fisher. This is not the first time, however, they have donated to the LCGS. In the past they have donated various books and documents.

    Church bragging. Pastor comparison. Attendance boasting. Building attention. Offering emphasis. Program lauding. Denominational arrogance. Personal Pride.

    Have you seen it? Done it? Unfortunately I’ve seen it too often. I have fallen into the Christian comparison trap more than I realize. We need to change.

    1 Corinthians 1:10 (ESV) “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.”

  • The Light Within

         It has been a joy to watch our Chinese grand-daughter grow in her relationship to the Lord.  So we were thrilled recently to read a statement she made in one of her school papers, I want to be remembered as a shining light of Jesus.  Jesus said in John 8:12, I am the light of the world; he who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  This is one of the seven self-descriptions of Jesus introduced by I am.  Our light as followers of Christ is a reflected light.

  • Fiscal Court Meeting

    LaRue County Fiscal Court designated two courtrooms and a jury room for community use during its April 23 meeting at the courthouse in Hodgenville.

    County Judge/executive Tommy Turner said these areas have been utilized for political party meetings, boy scouts, girl scouts, a church group and others.

    The hearing scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, 2018 for the ongoing case involving Jane Embry has once again been continued.

    Court Briefs

    Zachary Alexander Blair was arraigned for third degree terroristic threatening.

    Tammy Lynn Burt was arraigned for no or expired registration plates, no or expired registration receipts, and failure to register transfer of motor vehicle.

    Ryan Cook was arraigned for failure to or improper use of turn signal, no rear view mirror, and failure of license to be in possession.
