    LaRue County High School Boys Soccer is having a “Meet the Coaches and Fellow Players” meeting 6:30 p.m. April 7 in the high school library. JV and varsity players from seventh grade to incoming seniors are invited. This is a chance to learn about the training schedule and expectations.   • SOFTBALL: Strong offense predicted

          Lady Hawks’ softball coach Aaron Howell predicted a strong offense this season, and his LaRue County 18th District, Fifth Region team is responding.
       Senior Peyton Gardner has led the charge with a .550 batting average, powering a home run, double, nine singles and has seven RBI’s. 
       Courtney Johnson is batting .333 with two home runs and seven RBI’s in the last two games.

    Book signing

    Dr. J. Dwayne Howell, professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Campbellsville University, will be in the Barnes & Noble College Bookstore in the Davenport Student Commons on CU's campus signing "Preaching and the Personal," a collection of papers that he edited, 3-5 p.m. April 3. The bookstore is located at 410 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

    Howell is serving as pastor of Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Gleanings.
