  • Senior Calendar

    Daily Activities

    The Senior Citizens Center in Hodgenville offers several activities daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. including a hot lunch (served at noon, on weekdays), nutritional education and exercise. Suggested meal donation is $2. Bingo is played at 10 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information, call 270-358-4235.

    4-H Summer Camp

    4-H Summer Camp will be held May 29 through June 1 at Lake Cumberland.  Limited spaces for boys and girls are available on a first come first served basis.  The cost for camp is $220.  Call the LaRue County Extension Office at 270-358-3401 for more information.

    Shooting Sports

    The 4-H Shooting Sports Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the New Haven Gun Club.  The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 17.

     American Legion

    The American Legion will be hosting consignment auctions from 7-10 p.m. every Tuesday night. 20 percent of the sale will go to raising funds for the American Legion. They will also have yard sale booths available everyday for $10 per booth per day. For more information please call 270-774-1985.

  • LaRue 4-H talent show, fashion revue

    The 4-H Talent Show & Fashion Revue was held on Sunday, April 29 at the LaRue County Extension Office. 

    4-H members were able to showcase their talents in the categories of: vocal, instrumental, physical skills and theatrical.  In the Fashion Revue, 4-H Sewing members were judged on their modeling skills.  Results are as follows:

  • Cruisin’ for A Cure rescheduled

    Mother Nature must not ride a bike as rain has forced postponement of the Cruisin’ for A Cure Bike Ride during its two previous dates.

    Relay for Life has rescheduled the event at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 19 at First Baptist Church in Hodgenville. For those who have yet to register, please be at the site at 9 a.m. to complete registration.

  • Living Memorial Day

    The Magnolia Cemetery Board is sponsoring a special LIVING MEMORIAL DAY program on May 27 in Magnolia.  Everyone is invited to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, service beginning at 10:45 a.m. and the “Pot Luck Dinner” in the fellowship hall at 12:30 p.m.  Then, following at 1:30 p.m., in the Magnolia Cemetery, re-enactors will be beside the graves of pioneers who lived in this area in the 1800’s and will tell the stories of their lives.
