    Court Briefs

    Johnny E. Daugherty was arraigned for two count of alcohol intoxication in a public place, drinking alcohol in a public place, and second-degree disorderly conduct.

    Christopher Mercer was arraigned for fourth degree assault.

    Russell Mercer was arraigned for fourth degree assault.

    Marissa McKinley Bastian was arraigned for speeding 15 mph over the speed limit, and failure to notify address change to department of transportation.

    Volunteers are revving up for the 21st LaRue County Relay for Life event that is just around the corner on Saturday, June 16, 2018.

    With several changes being made this year, the Relay for Life committee is busier than ever preparing and rallying for the organization. This year, the event will take place at Creekfront Park in Hodgenville from 2 p.m. to midnight.

  • Slack Graduation

    John Ross Slack of Hodgenville graduated from the University Of Louisville Brandeis School Of Law on May 12, 2018.

    He graduated Summa cum Laude, and received the Distinction in Litigation skills award as well as being recognized as the Outstanding Graduate of the school due to his high scholarship, prominent leadership, and service to the university.

  • Reed appointed to School Safety Working Group

    Speaker Pro Tempore David Osborne recently appointed State Representative Brandon Reed to the newly-formed School Safety Working Group.

    Group members will meet periodically during the 2018 legislative interim period to discuss numerous aspects of school safety.

    The members from the House Majority Caucus will be John “Bam” Carney, R- Campbellsville; Brandon Reed, R-Hodgenville; John Blanton, R-Salyersville; Will Coursey, D-Symsonia; and George Brown Jr., D-Lexington.

  • Hawks Win District Championship

    The Hawks varsity baseball team made it a 4-Peat as they won their fourth straight 18th district tournament on Wednesday, May 23 after they beat Green County 8-0.

  • LCHS Hawks succeed at Region 4 Special Olympics

    The LaRue County Hawks Special Olympics team competed in the Area 4 Region Olympics that took place at St. Xavier High School in Louisville on Satuday, May 12. The following athletes won awards in their events:

    Noah Cromwell – 3rd place 50 meter dash; 3rd place 400 meter walk

    Robert England – 1st Place 400 meter walk; 3rd place Shotput

    Shelly England – 1st Place 100 meter walk; 1st place 50 meter walk

    Austin Harris – 1st Place Object Transfer; 2nd Place softball throw
