  • New library building on schedule

    The new LaRue County Public Library building progress has barely been slowed down by the winter hindrances due to hard work and dedication, and it is expected to be open to the public by the end of the year.

    The new library is being constructed on 215 Lincoln Drive in Hodgenville. Director of the LaRue County Public Library, Dana Jolly, said that she is thrilled by the progress of the new library and what is to come in the future.

  • LaRue Co. Relay for Life is Saturday

    The annual Relay for Life event in LaRue County is a time of remembrance, compassion, and fighting for a cure. The 21st Relay for Life event will be held this Saturday, June 16, at CreekFront Park in Hodgenville.

    The Event will take place at Creekfront Park at 250 Tonieville Rd. Events will begin at 2 p.m. and continue until midnight. Tonieville Road will be closed on Saturday, to give room for parking, activities, and more.

  • LaRue FFA succeeds at state

    The LaRue County High School FFA Chapter racked up the awards at the 89th annual Kentucky FFA Convention on June 5-7 in Lexington.

    LCHS FFA had four first place finishes along with several other top finishes in different categories. As a chapter, LCHS FFA received a State Gold rating and was recognized as one of the top 15 chapters in the state.

  • Quarles announces $30,000 award from The Dairy Alliance to God’s Pantry for milk coolers

    According to Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles, thousands of Kentuckians who struggle to buy nutritious foods for their families now have greater access to fresh Kentucky-produced milk thanks to a $30,000 grant from The Dairy Alliance to God’s Pantry Food Bank.

    God’s Pantry used the grant to acquire seven milk coolers for its Winchester and Lexington-Fayette County food pantries. The grant was awarded in conjunction with The Dairy Alliance’s Milk 2 My Plate initiative and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) Hunger Initiative.
