  • 27 people sent to hospital after school bus wreck

     Ambulances transported 25 students and two adults to area hospitals Friday following an accident involving three school buses in northern Green County, according to The Greensburg Record-Herald.

    It was William Edward Hickson who said, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Carol Reesor knows all about that particular life lesson.

    Reesor, an artist who lives in Buffalo, has spent years submitting and trying to be accepted into one of the Oil Painters of America’s exhibits.

  • Several indicted by grand jury

    Several people were indicted Sept. 15 by a LaRue County grand jury.

    Lewis R. Ireland Jr. (1969), of Magnolia, was charged with possession of controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine, and complicity; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity; cultivating marijuana, less than 5 plants, and complicity; trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, and complicity; and second-degree persistent felony offender.

    He is accused of acting alone or in concert with Deela D. Chandler, on Aug. 21.

    LaRue District Court Judge C. Derek Reed participated in the 2014 District Judges Fall College that took place Sept. 14-17 at the Administrative Office of the Courts in Frankfort. The AOC provided the judicial education program for the state’s district judges.
