    Relay for Life Survivor Dinner is April 10

    The seventh annual LaRue County Relay for Life Survivor Dinner is slated for Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Hodgenville First Baptist Church’s gym located at 7:30 Tonieville Road.

    According to County Relay Chair Shirley Jaggers, the survivor dinner continues to grow each year and is a special celebration for many with over a hundred survivors and guests in attendance last year.

    LaRue County Week

    LaRue County residents can enjoy free admission to The Lincoln Museum during spring break week, Monday April 2 through Sunday April, 8. The Museum is open Mon.-Sat. from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

  • Easter egg food safety tips

     With Easter upon us, many of us will be coloring, decorating and hunting eggs. If you plan to eat those eggs, remember these tips to keep yourself and your loved ones from developing a food-borne illness.

    - Make sure you use only food-grade dyes for coloring. It’s safe to use commercial egg dyes, liquid food coloring or fruit-drink powders.

    - Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before and after handling raw eggs or cooked eggs.

    - Do not keep eggs out of the refrigerator for hunting or decorating longer than two hours.

    Weeknight potatoes

    1 (24 Oz) package frozen hash browns, semi thawed

    1 (8 Oz) package cream cheese

    1 (1 Oz) package ranch dressing mix

    1 (10 3/4 Oz) can Cream of potato soup

    In slow cooker, add hash browns. In medium bowl, combine cream cheese, ranch dressing and cream of potato soup. Mix well. Pour mixture over hash browns. Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours. Mix before serving. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

        The Hodgenville Rotary Club is currently accepting scholarship applications for the club’s James D LaRue, Jr. Scholarship. The deadline is April 26, 2018.

  • LaRue County Cleanup Day a success

    The weekend brought piles of trash and puddles to the annual LaRue County Spring Clean-Up event held on March 23-24 across from the high school.

    According to county Solid Waste Coordinator Jill Gray, heavy rain all day Saturday did not deter residents from dropping off trash and scrap.
