    4-H Calendar

    4-H Cooking Club

    The 4-H Cooking Club will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 16 at the LaRue County Extension Office.

    4-H Canoe and Kayak Club

    The 4-H Canoe & Kayak Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at the Extension Office.

  • ECTC announces President’s, Dean’s Lists for Fall 2017

    Elizabethtown Community and Technical College has announced the names of students who made the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor List for Fall 2017 Semester. The President’s Honor List is awarded to full-time and part-time students who are eligible based on the following criteria:

    Full-time degree-seeking students earning a 4.0 grade point average and successfully completing at least 12 hours of course work for the academic term, excluding developmental courses, are included in the Full-time student President’s Honor List.

  • HES Rocket Club

     They may not be rocket scientists—yet--but the five members of Hodgenville Elementary School’s Paper Rocket Club are learning the essentials of producing and launching rockets and improving their academic skills in the process.

    The fourth graders, under the guidance of club adviser Traci Weaver, meet in her classroom Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons for five weeks. At each meeting they build a rocket and launch it that same day.

  • Hornback named presidential scholar candidate

    Skyler Hornback, a LaRue County High School senior from Sonora, was recently named as a 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholar.

    Hornback, the son of Jeff and Barbara Hornback, was one of five Gatton Academy seniors that were named as a presidential scholar candidate.

    The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
