• Two elementaries receive gifts from Dow Corning

    As a technology-based company, Dow Corning’s existence depends on the disciplines of science and mathematics. For the past several years, the company has focused its community giving on math and science education at the elementary and high school levels. During the 2008-09 school years, the funding is being focused on support for elementary school math and science programs.

    In its third year, the Backpack Program in LaRue County provides an invaluable service to area students who otherwise may have insufficient meals during weekends and other school breaks. Based purely on referrals from teachers, cafeteria personnel and family resource coordinators, students in need of food are finding relief from hunger.
