• 4-H Calendar - May 23, 2018

    4-H Summer Camp

    4-H Summer Camp will be held May 29 through June 1 at Lake Cumberland.  Limited spaces for boys and girls are available on a first come first served basis.  The cost for camp is $220.  Call the LaRue County Extension Office at 270-358-3401 for more information.

    Shooting Sports

    The 4-H Shooting Sports Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the New Haven Gun Club.  The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 7.

  • School calendar - May 23, 2018

    Last Day of School

        The last day of school for LaRue County students will be Thursday, May 24, and will be an early release day.


        LaRue County High School graduation will be held on Friday, May 25 at 8 p.m.

    LaRue County School Board

    The LaRue County School Board regular scheduled meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the LCHS Media Center.


  • Unique clubs in LCS

    Two clubs in the LaRue County School System are exemplary of the diversified interests of the district’s students.

    Natalie Detre, Art Club adviser at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, wants her club members to delve into their projects—literally.

    “All art is hands on, hands in, messy fun,” she said. “It is sand art drawings, clay, papier-mache, mixing water and markers.  Students have created ornaments, masks and more.”

  • HES participates in Special Olympics

    Students from Hodgenville Elementary School participated in Special Olympics track and field events on May 12, 2018 at St. Xavier High School in Louisville. 

  • LaRue County Reads
  • Hornback graduates from Gatton

    Hornback was a part of a class of 88 students representing 48 counties from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky who were recognized during the Gatton Academy’s 11th graduation ceremony in Van Meter Hall.

    Gatton Academy Executive Director and Mahurin Professor of Gifted Education Dr. Julia Roberts expressed that the graduation ceremony was a celebration for Kentucky.

  • LaRue 4-H talent show, fashion revue

    The 4-H Talent Show & Fashion Revue was held on Sunday, April 29 at the LaRue County Extension Office. 

    4-H members were able to showcase their talents in the categories of: vocal, instrumental, physical skills and theatrical.  In the Fashion Revue, 4-H Sewing members were judged on their modeling skills.  Results are as follows:
