• French sworn in to State Bar of Georgia

    Martha Sue (Curle) French was sworn in to the Georgia Bar on July 10, 2017 by the Honorable Ronnie K. Batchelor, Judge of the Superior Court of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit of Georgia in Lawrenceville.  

    French is also a member of the Kentucky and Florida Bar Associations.  She has spent the past 31 years in various roles with State Farm Insurance Companies where she is currently a training manager in the Atlanta office.  She manages claim trainers in Atlanta; Concordville, PA; and Newark, OH.

    The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the recently opened RNR Garage on Friday, June 2.

    The business, a three way partnership between Ronnie Chelf, Nick Fancher and Ray Fancher, offers full automotive repair, welding and tires.

    Ronnie Chelf, the owner of the building, said “I bought the building three or four years ago and we used it for storage. Ray used to be my mechanic years ago,” Chelf said. “He started working on vehicles here and there in the building since it already had a lift.”

    The start of 2017 has brought many changes in my life and in the life of the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce.

  • Knowing your target group

    The last four articles focused on the resources of the business and some ways to mange those resources. Specifically, the focus was on the organization’s human resources and how to get them to work in an effective and efficient manner, so the business can achieve its goals.

    Once the planning and organizing functions are done (two of the four functions of management), leaders should look at the specific ways they intend to market their product or service. Before the marketing avenues are determined, the specific target market should be determined.

    The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony last Friday for HouseMaster Home Inspections, owned by Brad and Diane Walters of Magnolia.

    The Walters said they always dreamed of owning their own business, so they set out to find the perfect business that would be a good fit for them.

  • Restaurant opens at country club

    A ribbon cutting was held last Friday by the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce for a new restaurant in LaRue County.

    Putter’s Par and Grill is located inside the LaRue County Country Club at 1175 Greensburg Road in Hodgenville. Their hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant features hamburger, jumbo hotdogs, spicy chicken wings, potato chip battered chicken strips and a variety of steaks.
