  • 4-Hers recognized at banquet

    Numerous 4-H members and volunteers were recognized at the annual 4-H Awards Banquet.

    The Outstanding 4-H Members for 2010 were named. The Junior Division includes 4-H members who are 9-13; the Senior Division includes members who are 14-18.

    Based on points earned for 4-H activities completed during the 2009-10 4-H year, Katie Gardner was the 2010 Outstanding Senior 4-H Member. 

  • LaRue County Farm Bureau awarded Gold Star

    LaRue County Farm Bureau received the 2010 Gold Star Award of Excellence for recent achievements in its Young Farmer Program during the recent Kentucky Farm Bureau annual meeting in Louisville. Caleb Ragland, representative for LaRue County Farm Bureau, accepted the award from Mark Haney, Kentucky Farm Bureau President.

  • EQIP and WHIP programs taking applications

    Each fiscal year, the Natural Resources Conservation Service sets ranking period dates for applications taken for USDA Farm Bill programs. Although ranking dates may vary from program to program, landowners may sign-up at any time for all conservation programs.

    The next ranking cut-off date is Jan. 28 and will include applications for both the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
