    She is survived by her husband, Jim Compton.

    The funeral was July 28 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in Green County Memory Gardens.

     

     

  • James T. Stearman, 86

    James T. Stearman, 86, of Greensburg, died July 20, 2012.

    The World War II veteran served in the U.S. Army.

    He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Stearman; and his children, J.T.  Stearman, JoAnne Withers, Brenda DeSimone, Roger Stearman, Kathy Stearman and Regina Johnson.

    The funeral was July 23 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

    Edward “Eddie” Terrell Thomas Loyall, 74, of Summersville, died July 21, 2012.

    He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jane Akin Loyall; and his children,

    Sherry Lynn McCubbins, Mitzi Gayle Loyall, Lana Carol Simpson, Sandy Caven, Freddie Scott, Coy Scott, Jackie Beams and Johnny Scott.

    The funeral was July 23 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in Buffalo Cemetery.

    Dorothy Lee Hoggard, 83, of Hodgenville, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She was retired from the LaRue County School System after 31 years, having taught at Hodgenville Elementary School and LaRue County Middle School. She was the former secretary for the LaRue County Library Board; member of the LaRue County Retired Teacher’s Association, LaRue County High School Band Boosters and a member of First Baptist Church in Hodgenville, where she was a former Sunday school teacher.

    Scherri J. Dupin, 47, of Upton, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
    Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Dupin; one son, Matthew Freeman; one daughter, Samantha Dupin; two stepsons, Justin Dupin and Bradley Dupin; and one stepdaughter, Bridgett Haywood.
    A graveside service is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Stoney Point Church Cemetery in Upton.
    Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton.

    Lottie Catherine Pottinger Jones, 87, of Magnolia, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

    She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hodgenville and was retired from Kentucky National Distilleries. She was born Sept. 10, 1924, the daughter of the late John Sylvester and Nan Puyear Pottinger.

  • Elta Mae Shepherd Lee, 88

    Elta Mae Shepherd Lee, 88, of Buffalo, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Elizabethtown Health & Rehabilitation Center.

    She was a lifelong member of Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo. She was a homemaker, born Dec. 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Everett and Ruey Young Shepherd.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Richard Lee; two sons, James Richard Lee and Alvin R. "Bob" Lee; and one daughter, Kathy Lee Zieg.

    Bessie Catherine Sprowls Underwood, 94, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

    She was a lifelong member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Buffalo, a farmer and homemaker. She was born Feb. 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Lewis and Lula Alice Skaggs Sprowls.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Bruce Earl Underwood; two brothers, Ernest Sprowls and Willie C. “Bill” Sprowls; four sisters, Alva Perkins, Gladys Thompson, Oma Elsie Loyall and Dorothy Loyall.

  • Glenn 'Buddy' Gusler, 83

     Glenn "Buddy" Gusler, 83, of Sonora/Elizabethtown, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    He was a member of New Horizon Baptist Fellowship and a lifetime farmer.

    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Gusler; his parents, Jim and Lillie Cruse Gusler; three sisters, Frieda Cruse, Geraldine Hornback and Anna Mae Tharp; and a brother, James H. Gusler.
