    Mary Albert Taylor, 91, of Hodgenville, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
    Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 3, 2012, at  Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
    Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions toward funeral expenses.

    The Rev. Randall L. Sallee Sr. of Upton passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at University Hospital in Louisville.

    He was a native of LaRue County and a farmer. He was a member of Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

    Randall was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel; his parents, Ray Franklin Sallee and Blanch Adeline (Hornback) Sallee; and a granddaughter, Tabitha L. Dennis.

    Vernia L. “Vernie” Dones, 56, of Boston passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.

    He was a member of the Christian faith. He was disabled and worked for many years for Riggs Construction Co.

    He was born Nov. 1, 1955, in Bardstown the son of the late William Carl “Bill” Dones.

    She was a housewife and member of  Powder Mills Baptist Church in Hart County.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Andy” Dillion; her parents, Morten Lewis and Annie Madden Lewis Clark; four brothers, Curt, Jim, Arvil and Jessie Lewis; and a half-sister, Clair Chaudoin.

     Rose Mae Hoback Russell, 45, of Hodgenville formerly of New Haven passed away Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Norton Health Care Pavilion Hosparus Unit in Louisville. She is a member of Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Gleanings. She was disabled having worked for Cash Express in Elizabethtown for many years. She was born September 5, 1966. Her father James Walter Hoback precedes her in death.

     Bobby Ray Kennedy 71, of Lyons Station, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at his residence.

    He was born April 15, 1941, in LaRue County to the late Albert and Nannie Coyle Kennedy.

    Bobby was a member of Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Nelson County, a retired plant manager of Zak Limited Cooperage at Athertonville, a veteran with the United States Army and a Kentucky Colonel.

    Paul Harold "Hurley" O'Bryan, 90, formerly of New Hope, died July 24, 2012, at his home in Shepherdsville.
    The U.S. Navy veteran of World War II is survived by a daughter,
    Kathleen Hinton; and a son, David O'Bryan.
    Mass of Christian Burial was July 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Hope, with interment in the church cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
    Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto handled arrangements.

  • Doris Ellen Catlett, 83

     Doris Ellen Catlett, 83, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

    She was the retired Hardin County Health Center registrar, member of Barren Run Baptist Church in Sonora, former employee of Hardin Memorial Hospital and the LaRue County Health Department.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Jeff Catlett, Sr. and Nancy Maude Cantrell Catlett; three brothers, Marion Catlett, Ralph Catlett and Ollie Jeff Catlett Jr.; a nephew, Fred Catlett; and a great-nephew, Taylor Vaughn.
