    Faye E. Libby, 94, of Hodgenville, formerly of Vermont, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at  Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She is survived by a daughter, Carol Kellaway of Hodgenville.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date.

    Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of the arrangements.

    Paul R. Meredith, 82, of Louisville died May 31, 2009, at the Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville.

    He was retired from Brown & Williamson and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

    He is survived by his wife, Virginia Alene Meredith; children, William Meredith of Alabama, Ray Meredith of LaGrange, James Meredith of Carrollton, Doris (Freddie) Bratcher of Caneyville, Betty (Jim) Goosey, Steve (Terri) McClure of Shepherdsville, Robert Darrell (Kathie) McClure and Donnie (Carla) McClure; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

    Russell Eugene Pierce, 70, of Buffalo passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, at his home.

    A native of Oldham County, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a truck driver.

    Ned “Bob” Earl Littlefield Jr., 66, of Sonora passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Ned Earl Littlefield Sr.

    He is survived by his wife, Cheryl “Dee Dee” Choate Littlefield; his mother, Mable Metcalf Littlefield; his  daughter, Michaela Ash; two brothers, John Littlefield and Charles Littlefield; 18 nieces and nephews; and 34 great nieces and nephews

    She was a homemaker, a member of the Barren Run Baptist Church and a member of the LaRue County Homemakers. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Burba Sr.; her parents, Leslie and Maude Nunn Druen; three sisters, Delsie Druen, Lillian Skaggs and Doris Ann Gardner; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Simpson.

    She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the Houchens Deli.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Eugenia Burba Hornback; and a brother, Markie Hornback.

    Eleanor Lee, 86, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Shepherdsville, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She was a retired teacher who worked 23 years at Cedar Grove Elementary School in Shepherdsville.

    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Lee, her parents, James Hugh and Elsie Williams Cowsert, and a sister, Jean Cowsert.

  • Deward E. Caven, 84

    Deward E. Caven, 84, of Magnolia died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

    He was a member of Aetna Grove Baptist Church, retired from General Electric after 30 years and was an Army veteran of World War II where he was a member of the 110th Infantry 28th Division and a Purple Heart recipient.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Francis and Victoria Goff Caven; two sisters, Gladys Whitlow and Evelyn Vaughn; and a brother, Omer "Rooster" Caven.
