  • Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will present a concert by an outstanding a cappella choir, the Louisville Vocal Project.

    The concert is 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Science Auditorium of the College. The public is invited and there is no admission charge.

  •  It’s a common misconception that purchasing a new home heating or cooling unit will automatically lower your energy bills. Purchasing a new energy efficient heating or cooling unit should lower your energy bills. However, this answer is not always so simple.

    Air conditioning and heating units are a part of your heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The full potential energy and cost savings of a new, energy efficient heating or cooling unit is only possible when the HVAC system is working with the home’s system.

  • The Sunrise Volunteers’ semi annual meeting was Oct. 15.

    President Rita Smith welcomed everyone and led the prayer. A meal was provided by Sunrise Manor.

    The minutes of the April 23 meeting were read by secretary, Emogene Gardner, and approved by the group.

    Peggy Edwards gave the treasurer’s report.

    Julia Kessinger said the Volunteers were present at nine funerals (106 in attendance). No report was given on membership.

    The group meets the first Monday each month at 10 a.m. at the Buffalo Baptist Church Annex.
