  • Financial Peace University at Parkway Baptist

     Parkway Baptist Church, 325 Old Sonora Road, Hodgenville, will hold a 9-week course “Financial Peace University” beginning 6 p.m. Jan. 19.   • The Elizabethtown Junior Woman’s Club made a donation of $500 to the Elizabethtown Fire Department. Proceeds were from Holiday Marketplace. Several of the women are LaRue County natives.

  • Eric and Melissa Williamson of Hodgenville announce the birth of their daughter, Ava Marie Williamson, born at 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2013. She weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 1/2-inches long.

    Ava Marie is the maternal granddaughter of Beverly Veirs and the late Roy Veirs of Hodgenville. She is the paternal granddaughter of Glenn and Karen Williamson of Buffalo.

  • Angela Gail Morris and Kenneth W. DeVore were married July 21, 2013, at Hodgenville Christian Church. 

  • Melvin and Doris Dye Thompson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner held in their honor at Pleasant Ridge Separate Baptist Church Dec. 29, 2013.

    The couple, married Dec. 28, 1963, have two children, Penny Viers and Darryl Thompson.
