  • How does it go?  “Americans love baseball, Chevrolet, and apple pie.”  I’ve had my share of apple pie and my first car was a ‘49 Chevrolet.

I have loved baseball as far back as I can remember.  When I was a youth living on a farm in Georgia, the men and boys of the community would gather in someone’s pasture on Sunday afternoon, divide into two teams and play baseball.  Those unable to play would umpire, coach or be spectators.

  • Luke 4:18–19 (ESV) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
