  • Like a lot of other people, Brian Anderson is looking forward to visiting Disneyland this summer.

Unlike most of the others, however, his Disneyland destination is in Shanghai, China.

“I’ll be heading to Shanghai at the end of June,” said the 2015 LaRue County High School graduate who is a rising senior at Western Kentucky University. ‘I’ll be staying in China for about two months.”

  • June is dairy month and dairying means a lot to the LaRue County citizens. Last year, from the sale of milk alone, an estimated $6, 200, 000 was brought into the LaRue County economy. And this doesn’t include the income generated through the sale of dairy cattle or other dairy related products, not the value of corn, hay, other feed products or other inputs into the dairies of LaRue County. Dairying is big business.

  • Money is a touchy topic. Finances cause much conflict in many relationships and families. How can we better understand and live responsibly in the midst of the challenges of savings, debts, and costs of life? The Bible has plenty to say, but here are 10 truths from God’s Word on money!

1.Everything Belongs to God (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 24:1, Haggai 2:8, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Remembering and practicing this truth will conquer a lot of our money problems! We need to stop thinking of things and money as “ours” and refer to them as “God’s.”

  • The Teddy Bear Picnic was a huge success last Thursday, June 7, as families overflowed the picnic area at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park in Hodgenville.

The Teddy Bear Picnic is an annual local event that is held for everyone, and distance doesn’t seem to be a limiting factor for families that love the event.
