  • Let Faith Guide You

Throughout time, the story of David and Goliath has been taught in Sunday School classes and proclaimed in sermons. Often, the one teaching or preaching has charged the listeners to be like David by facing one’s fears and overcome them in victory. The problem is that this passage is not about a scared shepherd boy facing the military giant with fear and trembling, rather it is a story that depicts a shepherd boy whose faith in God is so great that fear of Goliath does not exist.

  • The Next Generation

Ever hear complaining about the youth of today? Ever caught yourself bellyaching about the rapid generational changes? Don’t caught in the trap of moaning and groaning. It doesn’t fix anything and only feeds bitterness. Instead of whining about the next generation, focus on praising and praying.

Philippians 2:14–15 “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world”

  • Later than you think

An elderly farmer and his wife had an old clock that stood in the hall which was out of adjustment and very unreliable.  Sometimes it would strike five times when it should strike one.  Other times it would strike one time when it should have struck five times.  The farmer was awake early one morning and heard the clock strike 16 times.  He nudged his wife and said, “Old lady, wake up, it’s later than it ever has been before.”

  • Why GLOW?

Christ is the light of the world. As a result, believers have received the light and hold the responsibility to illuminate the darkened world with the message of Jesus Christ. Christ commanded the church to shine brightly for Him and to make Him known. As a result, as we see the darkness around us in the world, it is imperative that we GLOW brightly for the Lord. Do you know what it means to GLOW for Christ?

  • Lord, Make My Home Thine

A young Christian couple had a motto over the entrance to their home reading “Lord, make my house thine until thine shall be mine.”  This would be a wonderful prayer for each of us to pray.

The breakdown of the home is the reason for many of the problems we face in society today.  Satan makes the home the object of his attack.  He will and does use anything to disrupt our building a home.
