  • Rejoice in Salvation

Recently, I heard a story of a church where an individual became a new believer. The excitement of the decision overtook the new follower of Christ and the individual shared Jesus with everyone he came in contact with. After a couple of weeks of this behavior, a Sunday School class discussed the boastful nature of this new believer. During the conversation, an individual who had been a member of the church for many years simply said, “Just give it a few weeks until he gets over his salvation.”

  • Why everybody needs Jesus

Man’s greatest need is not money, power, or fame , but the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the one friend everybody needs because of our past, our present and our future. In the past we have sinned --- many times and in many ways. Something needs to be done about those sins, but we are helpless and hopeless. The hymn writer says, “There is a fountain filled with blood ... and sinners plunged beneath that flood, and lose all their guilty stains.”

  • Fear not (Part 1)

What are you afraid of? Loneliness, failure, financial issues, relationship issues, work issues, health issues, death or suffering? Fear can be overwhelming and paralyzing. It is not a coincidence that our loving God has much to say about fear, frequently commanding His children to “Fear Not!” Easier said than done you might say. Here is what God says.

  • Less than saintly ways

Many titles are given to saints in the Bible - among them are believers, children of God, chosen ones and Christians. A saint then is someone who has trusted Christ as Savior.

Paul addresses his letters to the saints who are in Rome, Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi and Colossae. The letters were not to a few leaders, but to all the Christians in these locations.

  • A gospel-saturated life

Luke 24:32-35 – They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of bread.

  • Write more

Do you write? You might quickly answer with a “no,” thinking writing is something only authors and reporters do. But, you probably write more than you realize. Think about it, with all the text messages, emails, cards, letters and notes. Even if you don’t write much, maybe you should consider writing more.

    5 Reasons to Write More:

  • Church: Before, During, After

Jesus told the story of two men who went to church.  Read the story in Luke 18:9-14 and you will easily see two different attitudes represented by the men.  One sees his great need while the other sees his great self.  One is boasting and putting himself on a pedestal, while the other man in humility pours out his heart to God in penitent tears.
