  • The Paranormal

Have you ever seen a ghost? A recent survey says 60% of people believe they have and 40% believe their pets have seen/sensed a ghost. Theories abound on things haunted, but the Bible actually offers a lot of truth concerning the paranormal. Oftentimes people are hesitant to share their experiences, but the season of October brings a lot of questions as people dive into paranormal entertainment and experiences.

  • Behold, The Lamb of God

John the Baptist introduced Jesus to the crowd and the world when he said, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).  People were aware of sacrificing a lamb for their sins, but John said this was God’s Lamb --- “Behold, the Lamb of God.”

  • A Living Sacrifice

Ivan the Terrible was a great ruler of Russia.  He was so busy annexing territory to his own country that he had no social life.  Some of his advisers were concerned that he had never married.  Ivan asked them to find him a wife.  After a long search they settled on the daughter of the King of Greece, Sophia.

  • Lose Your Religion

We have often heard that people should avoid any discussion on politics and religion. These two areas tend to drive wedges between loved ones, acquaintances, and people in general. The divisive nature of each finds grounding in the human-made components of each. Especially within the church, we see that the traditions of religion often drift to lead people away from God’s true calling upon one’s life.

  • What Do You Think of Christ?

Many questions confront man today such as where to live?  What career?  Who to marry?  But there is a universal question facing every individual which Jesus raised Himself as He spoke to a group of Pharisees in Matthew 22:42 -- “What think ye of Christ?”

All the questions we may face pales in the face of this great question.  I would hasten to say of Christ that He is God’s Son, He loves you, He died for you and He wants the best for you.

  • Gain In the Pain

In High School, I remember our school’s wrestling team having t-shirts that read “No pain, no gain!” That common expression often motivates people to purposeful physical pain for the purpose of self-improvement. But what about pain that is unwanted, unwelcome, or unfading? Is there gain in that? God has a lot to say about suffering, here are a few of His truths for our seasons of pain:

  • Peace In A Noisy World

Emotional stress is at a high level today. Many doctors agree that stress in one way or another is at the root of most of the diseases that plague us today. Stress is all around us. The only cure is given in Colossians 3:15 when Paul says, “Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.”

  • The ABC’s of Getting Out of Our Way

Many times life feels like a journey that travels in reverse instead of forward. We seemingly make a step forward in the right direction only to find us falter and stumble two steps in reverse. Often these struggles result from our conflicts and stumbling blocks that we place in our path. It is like we cannot move forward in life because we cannot get out of our way.
