    Pea Salad

    1 package (10 Oz. ) Frozen Green Peas, thawed

    1/2 cup cheddar cheese (cubed)

    1/2 cup celery chopped

    1/2 cup sour cream

    Combine all ingredients together. Salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.

    Facebook is a great tool to keep up with family and friends, or I thought it was until you get attacked online by a family member. It is so sad to say the least. I am not allowed to be her aunt anymore, really? Life goes on without the drama.

  • Project Grad launches last push for fundraising

    Several years ago, parent groups across the nation began to become involved in programs designed to keep their children safe on the night of graduation. After years of traditional graduation night parties and statistics that showed that spikes in teenage drinking and accidents occurred on that night in communities all across the country, parent groups began looking for alternatives so that their children could enjoy a safe, drug and alcohol-free graduation celebration.

    Shoe collection

    A shoe collection is taking place at the First Baptist Church to raise funds for a medical service dog for Xander Helm. Each pair of shoes collected will equal $10 in the fundraiser. The shoes will be cleaned, repaired, repurposed and used around the world. The collection totes are located in the front and back foyers of the church located at 730 Tonieville Road in Hodgenville.     The Senior Citizens Center in Hodgenville offers several activities daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. including a hot lunch (served at noon, on weekdays), nutritional education and exercise. Suggested meal donation is $2. Bingo is played at 10 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information, call 270-358-4235.

    Just Imagine

       Plowshares Farm Center for Education and Spirituality is hosting a ‘Just Imagine’ communal walking medtation event at the farm from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. The event is free and will end with a simple soup and bread meal. The farm is located at 12704 Campbellsville Road in Buffalo.   • LaRue Co. EMS add more positions

    Because of an increased number of ambulance calls, LaRue County Fiscal Court, meeting at the courthouse in Hodgenville April 10, authorized Emergency Medical Services Director Mike Cottrell to add another full-time crew of two paramedics and two emergency medical technicians to his staff.

    The number of runs jumped from 459 for the January 1-March 23, 2017, period to 623 for the same period this year, according to Cottrell.

    Our deepest sympathy is with the Aaron Barbour in the passing of his son last week. The visitation was Monday, followed by funeral services at William R. Rust Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Douglas Barbour and Reverend Billy Curle officiating. Burial was at the Buffalo Cemetery. The grandparents were Reverend Douglas and Maggie Barbour, Pastor of First Baptist Buffalo.

    Senior dance

    There will be a senior dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the Hardin County Fair Squares Facility on Hodgenville Road near Elizabethtown.     Sunrise Manor would like to announce a revival beginning at 7 p.m. nightly April 17 – 19 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.

    Preaching on April 17 is Brother Richard Binkley. Preaching on April 18 is Brother David Miller. Preaching on April 19 is Brother Matthew Tucker.

    There will be special music each evening. Everyone is welcome to join!
