    Congratulations to Essence Barbour on receiving a scholarship to the University of Kentucky. This past Sunday was communion Sunday at Lane Lincoln.

    Carrie Arnette was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital last week and recently returned home.

    Lane Lincoln- Women’s Bible Study was Monday evening. There will be a Bible Study this Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

    Thought for Today: We need not to worry ourselves with the ending of the world tomorrow. Instead, we need to check the condition of our soul in case Jesus comes back tonight.

  • 75th Anniversary

    Howard and Lucille Bailey Skaggs will be celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary from 3-6 p.m. on May 20, 2018 at Ovesen Heights Baptist Church Ministry Center located at 1604 Bardstown Road in Hodgenville, KY.

    They were married May 22, 1943 by Bro. Bruce Chelf. They are the parents of five children; James “Jimmy” Skaggs (deceased), Imogene Warren, Gerald Skaggs, Eloise Phillips, and Mellony Skaggs.

  • Academic All-Americans

    Three LaRue County Seniors received the prestigious designation of Academic All-American by the National Speech and Debate Association for the 2017-18 school year. To be eligible for Academic All-American, a student must have a 3.5-4.0 GPA, a 28 or better on the ACT, and have achieved the degree of Superior Distinction by earning over 750 speech, debate, or service points in the NSDA, and demonstrated outstanding character and leadership. Seniors Elena Cecil, Nate Risner, and Parker Anderson have all achieved this designation.

  • Relay for Life Bike Ride Slated for Saturday

        With LaRue County’s Relay for Life less than seven weeks away, the community is invited to a Cruisin’ for a Cure Bicycle Ride this Saturday beginning at 10:00. The event, similar to the former Tour de LaRue, is open to all ages and will host two riding options. A short loop on the First Baptist Church property is open for young riders with trikes, big wheels, and small bikes while others are welcomed to ride the three- mile loop beginning at the church and winding through neighboring subdivisions.

  • Derby Hat Contest

    The Lincoln Museum and The Sweet Shoppe will host a Derby Day Hat Contest on Saturday, May 5 in celebration of 144th running of the Kentucky Derby. The hat contest will be hosted at The Lincoln Museum which is offering two-for-one admission to the Museum while The Sweet Shoppe is offering a free scoop of ice cream from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (while supplies last) on Derby Day.

    There are three categories to enter: ladies, gents, and fillies (girls 12 and under). Prizes will also be awarded for most elegant and most creative hat. There is no entry fee.

    Happy 48th anniversary to Bobby and Carolyn Cox who celebrated their anniversary on Tuesday.

    Last Sunday evening, the Hodgenville Brotherhood was at Middle Creek Baptist providing the special music for their revival. The evangelist was Rev. Billy Curle. Last Sunday morning was Youth Sunday at Lane Lincoln.

    National Day of Prayer

    A National Day of Prayer event will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3 at the Hodgenville Civic Center. The event will include a brunch and will feature a period of prayer and special music. Those attending are asked to bring finger foods.
