  • Never Miss a Beat

    One thing is for sure, LaRue County won’t be missing a beat this month as a one of a kind concert has been planned in Hodgenville.

    A free concert entitled “Never Miss A Beat” will take place at the Hodgenville Civic Center on Friday, November 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert will feature Dr. Krista Wallace-Boaz (pianist), Aaron Boaz (violinist) and Jason Kalish (American Tap Dancer).

  • Be a Blessing this Christmas

    Halloween is over! Even though it might not be quite time to hang up your Christmas decorations and decorate the Christmas tree, it’s definitely time to donate to Christmas Blessings.

    Christmas Blessings is the program formerly known as Santa’s Helpers/Santa Bus. Nathan Wheeler, in conjunction with multiple churches in the surrounding area, took over the Santa Bus program at the beginning of this year and renamed the program Christmas Blessings.

  • LaRue Speech Team has great start

    A few weeks ago kicked off the first competition for the LaRue County team and they set a very competitive tone for the season.

    The team recently traveled to the University of Kentucky, where they competed with teams from all over the country for the National Speech and Debate Association Season Opener. The tournament hosted over 100 schools from 27 states and LaRue County took four entries to the tournament and put three of those four in finals.

    Angela celebrated her 41st birthday on Sunday, October 28. She received $119. She is now at Helmwood Healthcare, in room 224. She loves receiving mail, so feel free to do so.

    Hodgenville Christian Church is offering their community a way to come together and connect.

    Coffee on the Square at Hodgenville Christian Church is opened to the public every weekday morning from 7:30 a.m. until the coffee runs out. But what is coffee on the Square?

  • 5th In The State

    The LaRue County High School Band of Hawks narrowly missed making it back to the state finals for a second consecutive season.

    Last Saturday, the Band of Hawks traveled to Lexington for the 2018 Class AA State Semi-Finals Competition where they placed 5th out of 16 bands. Only the top four bands in semi-finals qualify to compete in the state finals for the state championship.

    Paint Night

    Parkway Peeps Relay for Life Team is hosting a Paint Night at Parkway Baptist Church at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13. There will be 10 door hanger designs to choose from. The cost is $35 and will include all supplies to paint, a hanger and ribbon. Payment is required prior to the event. For more information call Rita Thompson at 270-505-0380.

  • Turkey giveaway begins next week

    As you prepare for Halloween festivities on this Wednesday, it will then be time to switch gears and start making plans for the big Thanksgiving Day meal.

    Again this year, The LaRue County Herald News and participating businesses will offer the community an opportunity to win a FREE TURKEY.

    A full page of cut out coupon entries to participating businesses will publish in the November 7 and the November 14 edition of The LaRue County Herald News. You will simply cut off the entries, fill it out, and drop it into the bucket at the participating business locations.
