  • Hornback Speaks at DAR

    The Captain Jacob Van Meter Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, met on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Brown Pusey House. 

    Margie Martin, former Chapter Regent, was recognized as the first Captain Jacob Van Meter Chapter Honorary Regent.  She was presented a pin to honor her service.

  • LCHS Prom Committee

    The LaRue County High School Prom Committee participated in the Trash for Cash program sponsored by LaRue County Solid Waste Management.

    LCHS juniors convened to pick up trash in the county beautification project. Students are also thankful for the parents that helped on March 31.

  • Night To Shine

    Several LaRue Countians participated in the annual Night to Shine event at the Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown on Saturday, May 12. Night to Shine is a themed event for individuals with intellectual disabilities (15 years of age and older). Churches and community members come together to provide a safe and fun night full of games, dancing, food, and more. Averaging over 200 guests, plus family members and group home leaders, Night to Shine has been serving this community since 2013.

    National Day of Prayer

    A National Day of Prayer event will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3 at the Hodgenville Civic Center. The event will include a brunch and will feature a period of prayer and special music. Those attending are asked to bring finger foods.

  • Fundraising Calendar - April 25, 2018

    Shoe collection

    A shoe collection is taking place at the First Baptist Church to raise funds for a medical service dog for Xander Helm. Each pair of shoes collected will equal $10 in the fundraiser. The shoes will be cleaned, repaired, repurposed and used around the world. The collection totes are located in the front and back foyers of the church located at 730 Tonieville Road in Hodgenville.   • Senior Calendar - April 2, 2018

    Daily Activities

    The Senior Citizens Center in Hodgenville offers several activities daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. including a hot lunch (served at noon, on weekdays), nutritional education and exercise. Suggested meal donation is $2. Bingo is played at 10 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information, call 270-358-4235.

  • LaRue County Brass Ensemble

    Larry Davis has spent the past 20 years of his life dedicated to being the volunteer director for the LaRue County High School brass ensemble. Davis stated that, “It started as a quintet program,” a group of five people playing music or singing together, “but so many kids wanted to be involved this year (2018) that we had to make it an ensemble.” Davis currently has an ensemble of eight students. It was nine up until the New Year when one of his students had to move away.

  • LCHS Prom is April 28

    LaRue County High School seniors and juniors will have the chance to make lifelong memories as the high school prom is Saturday, April 28.

    Prom will be held in the LCHS cafeteria at 7:30 p.m. Prom Co-Sponsor Lindsey Bryan said parents and community members are welcome to preview the decor from 7 to 7:30 p.m. However, she said only students will be allowed to enter prom after 7:30 p.m.
