    Tumbleweeds

    1 package ( 12 Oz) butterscotch chips

    2 tbsp peanut butter

    1 can (12 Oz) peanuts

    1 can (4 Oz) shoestring potatoes

    Melt chips and peanut butter in double boiler. Combine peanuts and potatoes to butterscotch mixture. Drop by teaspoonful onto waxed paper. Cool.

  • Williamson publishes children’s book

    Sue Williamson has joined the ranks of published authors of children’s books. Her work, A Teacher’s Hands, became available last month.

    The project, however, actually began in 2012 as a poem honoring a co-worker, Heather Sutherland, who was LaRue County’s 2012 ExCEL Teacher of the Year.

    Summer time is here and the Chamber is excited to resume our First Friday events beginning this Friday June 1, 2018 with a downtown scavenger hunt. Come by the Chamber starting at 5:45 p.m. to make a $2 donation per person to Relay for Life and get your clues. Photograph all of the items listed and return to the Chamber office by 7:45 p.m. to have each name entered into a drawing for our “Summer Fun Prize.”

    The Animal Rescue Kare of Hart County is putting on a 5K Dawgy Dash June 2 starting at Munfordville Elementary School. Registration starts at 7 p.m. CT and the race begins at 8 p.m. CT. There will also be a walk around the block where you can walk with your dog. You can register at www.ark4hart.org/events. All proceeds go towards a facility for the ARK.

  • Scouts Donate To Warm Blessings

    The Little Lion Den Cub Scouts of Hodgenville Pack 369 recently collected shampoo and other personal items for Warm Blessings. Pictured making the donation to Linda Funk, Warm Blessings Executive Director are Kaylee Clark, Joshua Riggs, Wyatt Riggs, and J.J. Clark. These items are frequently distributed at Warm Blessings to those who are in need and also given to individuals who use the showers at the facility.

    Like a lot of other people, Brian Anderson is looking forward to visiting Disneyland this summer.

    Unlike most of the others, however, his Disneyland destination is in Shanghai, China.

    “I’ll be heading to Shanghai at the end of June,” said the 2015 LaRue County High School graduate who is a rising senior at Western Kentucky University. ‘I’ll be staying in China for about two months.”
