  • Walking horse show will benefit historic horse barn

The Bluegrass Walking Horse Association will host a two-day horse show at the LaRue County Fairgrounds.

Arlene Gray, who is helping to organize the event, said a portion of the proceeds from the Aug. 17-18 show would be used to renovate the 1907 horse barn at the fairgrounds.

“It is an awesome barn,” said Gray. “It wouldn’t take much to restore it ... you walk in there and you feel like you’re in a horse barn.”

  • More than 50 attend Jaggers reunion

The annual Jaggers family reunion was June 23, 2013, at Sportsman’s Lake in Hodgenville.

We were blessed with sunshine, good food, and lots of loving family. Great fellowship was always a blessing in the Kate and Everett Jaggers family. They had seven daughters, Allie, Bertha, Virgie, Sallie, Mary, Iva and Pauline. This family tradition was started many years ago at the request of Kate and Everett.

They wanted their descendants to stay close. To this day we still carry on this annual event.
