Thought for the week: God has a purpose for your pain, a reason for your struggle and a reward for your faithfulness. Trust him and never give up.

Hope everyone has a safe spring break. Gas prices sure didn’t have to shoot up like they did. Flowers coming up like crazy, but still too cool to be out and clean flowerbeds out. Better days are ahead sooner or later. I can’t believe Easter has already come and gone. It was just another day for us, we stayed home and did nothing.

Our deepest sympathy are with the family of Chris Goodin, Sr. who passed away last Friday. He was a 1970 graduate of LaRue County High School. He was married to Shirley Sprouls and they have a son, Chris Goodin, Jr. There is no other information at this time.

Sunday morning was Communion Sunday at First Baptist and Lane Lincoln. Reverend Wilkinson recognized the “Mother of the Church” Rosleen Price on her 91st birthday last Friday. Also, the First Lady, Rosalyn (his wife) and his mother-in-law, Corine Johnson who had birthdays on last Saturday.

  • It was a ‘Good Friday’

The LaRue County Ministerial Association hosted a Community Good Friday Service at noon on Friday, March 30 at the Hodgenville Civic Center. A free luncheon was also hosted by the county churches following the service in the Civic Center’s basement.

The Young at Heart Community Choir singing “Because He Live, Yes He Lives.” Other music was provided by the First Baptist Worship team, Jenn Mayfield, Kim Knight, Paul Martinez and Caleb Phelps.

Thought for the week: One needs different people in their life. A harbor in which to seek shelter against the storm, or simply to pay a visit because it is such a beautiful day.

Ole man weather can’t make up his mind. I sure wish he would go to sleep and quit having these snow storms. I literally hate snow.
