    Baked Apple Pie Roll Ups

    10 slices white bread

    1 can apple pie filling

    1/3 cup melted butter

    1/2 cup sugar

    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

     Cut the crusts off your bread and roll each slice flat with a rolling pin. Combine cinnamon and sugar on a small plate.

    Pour the apple pie filling onto a plate and chop it so the pieces are smaller. Put about 2 tablespoons apple pie filling on each slice of bread and roll up.

    Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Dolvinia Watson. She passed away early last Thursday morning at University of Louisville Hospital. The visitation will be Wednesday, October 14 from 1 to 9 p.m. at the Dixon Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia. The viewing will at the funeral home after 10:30 AM on Wednesday and the funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hodgenville. Burial will be at the Buffalo Church Cemetery.

  • Hosparus looking for volunteers

    Hosparus is seeking patient support volunteers in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue and Meade counties.

    Hosparus will offer a free training class from 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 16 at its Elizabethtown office on 105 Diecks Drive.

    Volunteers provide companionship to patients and respite for their caregivers. Working closely with the rest of the Hosparus care team, volunteers provide comfort and enhance quality of life during a very difficult time for patients and families.

    LaRue County Public Library Golden Storybook Story Time

    Golden storybook story time on October 31 at Noon. The Saggy Baggy Elephant and The Poky Little Puppy will be read. There will also be a performance by the Saggy Baggy Elephant and Poky Puppy and they will also pose for pictures with people. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to attend.

    LCHS cheerleaders

    LCHS cheerleaders will be hosting a chili supper Friday, October 16 before the football game from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the LCHS cafeteria.  The cost is $5 per person, which includes a bowl of soup (chili, potato, veggie, etc) sandwich, dessert and a drink. Tickets are available at the door or in advance. The LCHS cheerleaders would like to invite all cheerleading alumni to come out to the game and chili supper.  Please sign in with one of the cheer coaches when you arrive.
