    Benefit for Living Waters Guatemala Project

    “A Taste of Guatemala” a production of the Kentucky Vocal Union will be held Saturday, September 12, at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown, KY. Tasting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the singing at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students. Benefit event is for the Living Waters Guatemala Project, and is sponsored by the Etown Rotary Club, First Presbyterian Church, and Mount Zion Baptist Church.     Senior Dance

    A dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on September 11, at LaRue County Senior Center, corner of Walters Avenue and Water Street in Hodgenville. Music featuring Prime Time Band. Admission will be $4 each. For more information contact Jim Walters 270-737-5655.

    I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. The Durham High School reunion was last weekend in Campbellsville.

    First Baptist- Bible Study will be Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Septmber 10 at 6 p.m. will be choir rehearsal. Friend’s Day is Sunday, September 21. Rev. Wilkinson and First Baptist will fellowship with Eunice Church of God in Columbia. for Friend’s Day. Sunday, September 28 will be “Old Fashion Day.” Everyone is asked to dress in old attire as in the earlier years.

    Hardin Memorial Hospital’s WOW Wellness on Wheels is Monday, September 21 at Hometown IGA in Hodgenville from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will provide preventative wellness screenings: blood pressure, body fat analysis, body mass index & blood glucose-no charge.     County Quilt Club

    The County Quilt Club will meet monthly at the Extension Office at 807 Old Elizabethtown Road in Hodgenville on the 2nd Wednesdays of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a project to work on or any recent quilt work to show and share. During the next meeting on September 9, Myra Vance will be demonstrating a twisting pinwheel design. The free event is open to everyone.
