    The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce featured speaker at the January monthly meeting will be Congressman Brett Guthrie. Congressman Guthrie represents Kentucky’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

  • Birth Announcement

    Travis and Becky Beard of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Elaina Langlee Lynn Beard, on July 1, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She weighed 6 pounds ten ounces and was 18 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Donnie and Elaine Nunn of Hodgenville and great-grandparents are Donald and Leona Morgan of Elizabethtown and Kenneth Nunn of Hodgenville and the late Helen Nunn.

    Competition is heating up as turnip growers vie for bragging rights of who grew the largest turnip.

     Charles Williams of Elizabethtown, grew a sizable 3 lbs 4 oz turnip and submitted a photo for December 16 issue of the LaRue County Herald News.

    Paul Williams, of Mack Thomas Road, not to be out done, came in to our office to have his picture taken with his hefty 4 lbs 6 oz 22 inch circumference turnip which appeared in the December 30 issue.

    A dance will be held at 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday January 9 at the Vaughn Reno Starks Community Center on Bishop Lane in Elizabethtown. Prime Time Band will be playing.
