    Apple Crisp

    1 box yellow cake mix

    1 pound sugar

    3 (20 Oz) cans apples or peaches, sliced pie size

    1 1/2 quick oatmeal

    2 sticks butter

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees

    Put apples in 10x14 inch pan.

    Place in oven and heat fruit thoroughly, while fruit is heating, melt butter, add dry ingredients, mix well. Remove fruit from oven and spread mixture over fruit. Return to oven and back for 30-35 minutes

    Serve warm

    When a lot of people think about Lincoln Days, they think about the Abraham Lincoln look-a-likes, Mary Todd Lincoln look-a-likes, the parade, the pioneer games and the list goes on and on. But for one group of people, Lincoln Days means its time to auction off their prized hams.

  • Sunrise Manor Wins Big

    Residents and employees with Sunrise Manor of Hodgenville traveled to Portland, Tennessee on Thursday, September 27 to compete against 15 other Signature healthcare nursing homes from around Kentucky and Tennessee.

    According to Sonya Turner, Sunrise Manor Quality of Life Director, each home brings four elders/residents that compete in various competitions. Each home starts preparing for the competition around August.

  • Lincoln Days 2018 Opening Event

    The Opening event of the 2018 Lincoln Days Celebration was held Sunday, September 30. This is the 47th year for the Art Show which features four different divisions for entries by local artists and around the region. The Art Show sponsors: Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP; Lincoln National Bank, LaRue-Carey Insurance, The Lincoln Museum are pleased to announce the 2018 winners.

    The first place winner in the Lincoln Division is purchased by Lincoln Days, Inc and placed with the original collection on exhibit at the Lincoln Museum.


  • Gowen to host Houdini show

    Hold your breath, cause this show will surely take it away. Dinky Gowen, Master of Illusion, presents Houdini Magic and Escape Show at the Historic State Theater.

    In honor of the great Houdini, this show will feature some of Houdini’s greatest escapes and illusions, including Houdini’s famous water torture chamber performed by Adriane Phoenix.
