  • Reed appointed to tourism committee

    Representative Brandon Reed, R-Hodgenville, has been appointed to the House Committee on Tourism and Outdoor Recreation.

    The Tourism and Outdoor Recreation was created prior to the 2017 session as a standalone committee, signifying the importance of the tourism industry to the Commonwealth. The committee is chaired by Representative Tommy Turner, a Republican from Somerset, and has jurisdiction over matters relating to tourism and travel promotion, state and national parks, and fish and wildlife, among other areas.

    Pecan Pie Bark

    2 sticks of butter

    1 cup white sugar

    1 1/4 cups pecan halves

    2 pkg(approximately 12 sheets) honey graham crackers

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lay crackers across a greased baking sheet, trimming crackers to fit the sides of the pan if needed. Set aside. In large saucepan, bring butter, sugar and pecans to a boil over medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour boiled mixture over the entire pan of crackers, spreading pecans evenly. Bake for 8 minutes. Cool completely before breaking into pieces.

    Dr. B.T. Bishop was admitted to the hospital this week. Sunday morning was the last Sunday of the year and the last fifth Sunday of the year. Lane Lincoln fellowship with First Baptist during morning services. The Hodgenville Brotherhood provided the music and the morning sermon was given by Pastor, Reverend Terry Robertson.

    To each and everyone, have a blessed and a Happy New Year. Please be safe on the highways while going out.

    The fifth Sunday morning, Lane Lincoln will fellowship with First Baptist. The Hodgenville Brotherhood will provide songs of Zion and the morning sermon will be given by Reverend Terry Robertson.

    Happy anniversary to Dale/Reka Embree who will be celebrating their 8th anniversary on December 25 and John/Cathy Ford who will be celebrating their 31st anniversary on December 30.
