  • Glen Rice in concert

    Glen Rice’s 2015 Musical Concert Series will have a “My Special Christmas” concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 6 at the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center in Elizabethtown.

    The concert will feature musicians Pat Portman, Amber Martin, Allie Shae, Camille Turner, Teri Lynn Dandy, Roger Conley, Ricky Howsare and Clint Sapp.

    Apple Snickers Salad

    4 large green apples

    4-5 snickers bars

    8 oz cool whip

    1 small box vanilla instant pudding mix

    1 1/2 cup milk


    Mix milk and pudding then fold in the cool whip.

    Cut up apples and snickers and mix in. Top with caramel. Serve cold or layer and serve cold.

    Community Thanksgiving

    South Fork Baptist Church will serve a Community Thanksgiving meal from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, November 26. The church is located at 4915 New Jackson Hwy., Hodgenville. The meal will be served in the fellowship hall, and is available for dine in or take out. For more information call 270-358-3626.

    American Legion

    Meatloaf and Elvis will be performing at the American Legion Post 87 in Hodgenville, from 8-12 p.m. this Saturday evening, November 28. Admission is $5. All proceeds benefit the American Legion.

  • Fundraising calendar - November 25, 2015

    Cissal Hill Big Wheel Race

    The Annual Cissal Hill Big Wheel Race will be held Sunday November 29. Proceeds from the race will go to the ALS Foundation in honor of Ed Faulkner. There is a $10 entry fee to race; racers must wear a helmet; no motors and no bicycles. There is a rubber tire class and a plastic tire class. First place cash prize for the winner of each class.     Thought for the week: Sometimes when things are falling apart they may actually be falling into place.

    I am not fond of early deadlines because there is hardly anything to report. I don’t see what the big issue is to have “In God We Trust” put on our police cruisers. I think that is what is needed in all communities. We need to turn back to God in these troubling times the whole country is going thru, just my thoughts.

    First Baptist- Wednesday, November 25 at noon will be Bible Study. Lane Lincoln will fellowship with First Baptist during morning services on Sunday, November 29. The Hodgenville Brotherhood will provide the music following the morning sermon by Pastor, Reverend Aaron Moss, Sr. There will be a missionary meeting on Saturday, December 5 at noon. Sunday, December 20 will be Senior Citizen Day.
