    Hayley Leann Evans and Skyler Trenton Hornback received the 2018 Lincoln Museum Edward and Thelma Ford Scholarships. Since 1995, an endowment provided by Mrs. Thelma Ford has provided financial assistance for 48 LaRue County High School graduates.

  • Night To Shine

    Several LaRue Countians participated in the annual Night to Shine event at the Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown on Saturday, May 12. Night to Shine is a themed event for individuals with intellectual disabilities (15 years of age and older). Churches and community members come together to provide a safe and fun night full of games, dancing, food, and more. Averaging over 200 guests, plus family members and group home leaders, Night to Shine has been serving this community since 2013.

  • Reed Receives Champion’s Award

    The Family Foundation of Kentucky recently honored State Representative Brandon Reed with its Champion of Faith, Family and Freedom Award for his principled and steadfast leadership over the last biennium.

    “The direction of the Commonwealth has changed significantly in the last two years, in no small part because of the dedication and labor of Reed,” said Kent Ostrander, president of the organization.

     American Legion

    The American Legion will be hosting consignment auctions from 7-10 p.m. every Tuesday night. 20 percent of the sale will go to raising funds for the American Legion.     Daily Activities

    The Senior Citizens Center in Hodgenville offers several activities daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. including a hot lunch (served at noon, on weekdays), nutritional education and exercise. Suggested meal donation is $2. Bingo is played at 10 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information, call 270-358-4235.

    Shoe collection

    A shoe collection is taking place at the First Baptist Church to raise funds for a medical service dog for Xander Helm. Each pair of shoes collected will equal $10 in the fundraiser. The shoes will be cleaned, repaired, repurposed and used around the world. The collection totes are located in the front and back foyers of the church located at 730 Tonieville Road in Hodgenville.
