Wrestlers honored at year-end banquet

Mat Hawks celebrate season

Five LaRue County High School wrestlers were honored at the end-of-season banquet in April.

Drew Newberry, then a freshman 215-pounder, was named most valuable wrestler for the Mat Hawks.

Freshman 112-pounder Nick Paden received the Granby Award which recognizes overall attitude as well as wrestling skill.

Senior heavyweight David Blair was named most improved.

Eli Meredith received the JV wrestler award. (A photo was unavailable of Meredith.)
