Two die in fire near Holy Cross

 Two people died as a result of a trailer fire near Loretto early Monday morning.

Thomas Wayne Cundiff, 60, and his wife, Mary Rose Cundiff, 71, died in the fire that destroyed 6310 Holy Cross Road.

The mobile home was a complete loss, according to the police.

Lebanon Police Dispatch received a report of the fire at 3:36 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6.

The Loretto, Bardstown, New Hope, Raywick and Lebanon fire departments responded. Marion County EMS, the Marion County Rescue Squad, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Marion County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.

KSP arson investigator Alex Wesley and KSP Detective Mike Dubree are conducting the investigation. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but the state police do not suspect foul play.
