Incumbent Brandon Reed (R) and former State Representative Terry Mills (D) have both filed to run for the 24th Kentucky House District.

Reed filed to run for the seat on December 27, 2017 and Mills filed on January 3, 2018. The 24th district includes LaRue, Marion and Green counties.

Both candidates are currently unopposed in the May Primary election. If no one else files to run for the state representative seat, Reed and Mills will face each other in the 2018 November General Election. The deadline to file for the 2018 Primary Election is at 4 p.m. on January 30, 2018.

Reed is currently serving his first term as state representative for the 24th district. In the 2016 General Election, Reed defeated Mills 10,563 votes (54%) to Mills 8,972 (46%).

Mills previously served as the state representative for the 24th district from 2010-2016.
