A LaRue County tire store has been meeting their customers tire needs for almost two decades.

David Street’s Tire and Towing is located at 10958 South Dixie Highway in Sonora. The store offers a wide variety of products and services including new and used tires, batteries, roadside assistance, tire disposal, 24/7 towing services and more. Their hours are Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Owner David Street said his father, whose name was also David Street, opened the business in 1999 after moving to Sonora from Elizabethtown.

“The only thing that separates my name from my dad’s name was our middle names. Nothing held my dad back and he loved helping people in need,” Street said. “He passed away in October (2015) and I took over the business.”

David Street’s Tire and Towing serves customers in mostly Hardin and LaRue County. However, Street said they also serve customers in the surrounding counties.

“We have a Sonora address, which is typically considered Hardin County,” Street said. “Hwy 31W is practically the county line and we are on the LaRue County side of the highway. Our service extends throughout the region.”

Street said that one of the things that makes them different is how they treat their customers and how they “go out of the way” to help them.

“I like working in the public and interacting with people. We go the extra mile for them too and we even do mobile repair for vehicles where we fix them on site. We also do field service for farmers to where we change tractor tires on site,” Street said. “I feel like the community is happy we are here because we are convenient and helpful.”
